This page explains how you can ask Rokig (“Rokig”, “we”, “us” or “our”) to stop selling or sharing your personal information for advertising or similar purposes under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (together, “CCPA/CPRA”).
The Site is operated by WEB MEDIA MARKETING LIMITED, company number 15132960, 24-26 Arcadia Avenue, Fin009, London, England, N3 2JU, and is available at https://rokig.com/.
This page is mainly intended for California residents, but we apply the same opt-out choices more broadly where feasible.
1. How Rokig uses personal information for advertising and affiliation
Rokig is a content site funded by advertising and affiliate partnerships. When you visit the Site, we and our partners may use cookies and similar technologies to collect certain information (such as online identifiers, device information, approximate location, browsing activity and interactions with our content and ads).
We may then:
- Show ads on our Site (for example, via Google AdSense or similar networks);
- Measure clicks and purchases made via affiliate links (for example, Amazon Associates (USA) and other kitchen equipment partners);
- Analyze which content and products are most popular, including for cross-site statistics and advertising.
Under CCPA/CPRA, this type of activity can be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
2. What “sell” and “share” mean here
For the purposes of this page, when we say “sell” or “share” we mean:
- Making personal information (such as cookie IDs, IP address, or browsing behavior) available to third parties (for example, ad tech and affiliate partners) in exchange for monetary payment or other benefit (such as ad placement or analytics services);
- Allowing those partners to use that information to show you ads or measure performance across different websites or apps.
We do not sell your contact details in bulk lists, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children under 16.
3. Your right to opt out of sale or sharing
If you are a California resident, you have the right to direct us to stop selling or sharing your personal information. We extend this opt-out mechanism to all visitors where practical.
We will not require you to create an account to submit an opt-out request. If we ask for information, it will only be what we reasonably need to identify your browser, device, or profile and honor your request.
4. How to opt out (three easy options)
4.1 Use our cookie & privacy settings (recommended)
Rokig uses a consent and privacy tool (Cookiebot CMP) to let you manage cookies and similar technologies. To opt out of sale or sharing:
- Click the “Cookie Settings” link or icon available on the Site (for example, in the footer) or tap the small privacy button that appears after you make your cookie choice.
- In the preferences window, switch off categories such as Marketing/Advertising (and, where available, related analytics categories used for cross-site advertising).
- Save your preferences.
When you turn these categories off, we will treat this as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information via cookies and similar technologies. Only strictly necessary cookies (for basic site operation and security) will remain active.
For convenience, we also provide a dedicated button on this page that your browser or device can use to open the cookie and privacy settings:
Open cookie & privacy settings
(On the technical side, our development team connects this button to Cookiebot CMP so that it opens the consent and opt-out controls.)
4.2 Use a browser signal (Global Privacy Control)
If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) or similar recognized signal, we treat that signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for the browser sending the signal, as required by CCPA/CPRA.
If you enable GPC, we will adjust our settings for that browser to reflect an opt-out, even if you do not click any button on this page.
4.3 Contact us by email
You can also send us an opt-out request directly. Please include “CCPA/CPRA Opt-Out Request” in the subject line and tell us:
- That you want to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; and
- Any relevant details about your interaction with Rokig (for example, whether you are a newsletter subscriber).
Contact points:
- Email (support): [email protected]
- Email (privacy): [email protected]
We may ask you for limited additional information if needed to correctly identify your records and apply your opt-out.
5. What changes after you opt out
When you opt out of sale or sharing:
- We stop selling or sharing your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising;
- We limit third-party cookies and similar technologies used for targeted ads, to the extent they depend on sale or sharing;
- You may still see ads, but they should be less tailored and more contextual (for example, based only on the page you are viewing);
- We may continue to use your information for purposes permitted by law, such as security, fraud prevention, measurement in an aggregated or de-identified way, or to provide services you request.
6. Relationship to other privacy rights
The right to opt out of sale or sharing is in addition to other privacy rights you may have under CCPA/CPRA and other laws, such as:
- Right to know/access the personal information we have collected about you;
- Right to delete certain personal information;
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information;
- Right to limit the use and disclosure of “sensitive personal information”, if applicable.
To learn more about these rights and how to exercise them, please visit our Privacy Policy.
7. Sensitive personal information
Rokig does not intentionally use or disclose “sensitive personal information” (as defined by CPRA) via this Site beyond the limited purposes allowed by law, such as security or providing the services you request. If our practices change in the future such that a separate “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” mechanism is required, we will update this page and our footer links accordingly.
8. Children’s privacy
Rokig is intended for adults and is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children under 16.
If we become aware that we have sold or shared personal information of a child under 16 in a way that requires opt-in authorization, we will take appropriate steps to comply with the law, including ceasing the sale or sharing and obtaining the required authorization where relevant.
9. How long your choice lasts
When you opt out of sale or sharing through our cookie settings or via GPC, your choice is stored using a browser-level signal (for example, via a cookie or similar mechanism) so we can remember it on future visits from the same browser and device.
We will not ask you to opt back in to sale or sharing for at least 12 months after you opt out, unless the law allows or requires otherwise.
10. Updates to this page
We may update this page from time to time, for example if our advertising partners or legal obligations change. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If there are material changes to how you can exercise your opt-out rights, we may also provide additional notice (for example via a banner on the Site).
